HBO’s “Euphoria” Season 3 is currently in pre-production but the news just hit that the season might be on hold longer than ever!!
HBO announced in early February that Sam Levinson’s hit drama had been renewed for a third iteration.
“Sam, Zendaya, and the entire cast and crew of Euphoria have taken season 2 to extraordinary heights, challenging narrative convention and form, while maintaining its heart,” Francesca Orsi, executive vice president of HBO Programming, said in a statement when the news was announced. “We couldn’t be more honored to work with this gifted, wildly talented team or more excited to continue our journey with them into season 3.”
The show is currently paused because of the Writers Strike.
Due to the WGA strike, it’s reported that fans are in for a long wait before season three official premiere.
HBO’s head of drama Francesca Orsi says the season will premiere “ideally in 2025.”
“Euphoria is one of those that we had begun writing in tandem with post-production on [Euphoria creator Sam Levinson’s new project The] Idol but at this point, we don’t have countless scripts,” Orsi told Deadline. “We can’t start shooting, so the delivery of that show—ideally in 2025—will be determined on when we can pick back up with Sam, who at this point is all pencils down and just finishing posts on Idol.”
Ouch! That is such a long time! What do you want to see on the 3rd season!?
